Dr. Hans Woermann, the founding Partner of the practice, graduated in Medicine at UCT in 1990 and has spent time in various disciplines.

He has experience working previously in hospital settings but also within a well-established City Bowl Surgery for many years. He has a broad range of experience in Medicine with extensive knowledge of Specialist Doctors in the Cape Town area.

He is a dedicated doctor with a comprehensive array of interests who is also a licensed Travel Medicine practitioner. He is fluent in English, Afrikaans and German.

Dr. Paul Calow is a General Practitioner and Partner at Doctors Rooms on Kloof.

He trained at the University of Cape Town and further specialised in General Practice in the United Kingdom where he worked in the public sector (mainly emergency medicine) for many years.

He is a physician with a broad range of interests, including minor surgical procedures, and aesthetic medicine and is a licenced travel medicine/yellow fever vaccination specialist.

Dr. Rip da Silva is a General Practitioner and Partner at Doctors Rooms on Kloof. He has a research background in anatomy attaining a BSc Hons and MSc Hons from the University of Cape Town and then went on to study Medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand.

A father of three, his medical interests are diverse and include family medicine, men’s health, sports & exercise medicine, aesthetic medicine, and minor surgical procedures.

Rip loves outdoor sporting activities and is currently doing an MPhil in Sports & Exercise medicine through UCT and Sports Science Institute of South Africa.

Dr. Celeste Tsang is a General Practitioner at Doctors Rooms on Kloof. She studied a Bachelor of Health Sciences and then medicine at the University of Witwatersrand and graduated in 2014.

After community service at Leratong Hospital in Johannesburg, she worked in the trauma emergency unit at Groote Schuur Hospital, and the emergency medicine department at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital and Helen Joseph Hospital. She obtained a diploma in primary emergency care (DipPEC- SA). She has worked as a General Practitioner at Midrand Medical Centre since 2020, joining the Doctors Rooms on Kloof practice in January 2021.

Areas of interest include: family medicine, emergency medicine, women’s health and mental health.

Dr. Asma Banderker is a General Practitioner at Doctors Rooms on Kloof. She is from Cape Town and completed her MB ChB degree at Stellenbosch University in 2015.

Since then, she has gained experience in paediatrics and paediatric surgery by working at Red Cross Children’s Hospital. She then went on to work in impoverished communities in Cape Town for 2.5 years where she gained invaluable experience in primary health care, HIV and TB.

She has a special interest in women’s health, paediatrics and HIV care.

Dr. Matthew Wintour is a General Practitioner at Doctors Rooms on Kloof.
Originally from Johannesburg, he graduated from University of Pretoria in 2013, and completed his medical training at Groote Schuur Hospital and Khayelitsha hospital Emergency Centre in Cape Town.

While working on Khayelitsha’s Emergency Unit, he obtained his primary Emergency Medicine diploma (DipPEC-SA) in 2017.

He has also worked as Senior Medical Doctor on board cruise ships around the world from 2017-2022, where he would oversee and manage the first recorded cases of COVID-19 in Japan.

Furthermore, he has worked as the medical lead on film sets, such as Survivor South Africa.

Currently, he is pursuing a specialization in Radiology Medicine, with specific interest in Interventional Radiology.

Dr Janey van der Merwe is a General Practitioner at Doctors Rooms on Kloof.

She studied Medicine at Stellenbosch University and further obtained a post graduate Diploma in HIV and TB management through The Colleges of Medicine of South Africa.

Special interests include infectious diseases, preventative health and family medicine.

She is fluent in English and Afrikaans and is passionate about providing holistic, personalised, evidence-based care.
